Job Overview

The Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall management, supervision, and operational efficiency of the branch. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall branch operations in accordance with HEED policies and guidelines.
  • Manage loan disbursement, savings collection, and repayment activities efficiently.
  • Support audits, monitoring visits, and inspections as required.
  • Handle financial operations including fund management, cash flow, budgeting, and expense control at the branch level.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, vouchers, ledgers, and perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor loan portfolio quality, track overdue loans, and ensure timely recovery.
  • Approve member enrollments and group formations during field visits.
  • Supervise Credit Officers to ensure daily OTR (Outstanding Tracking Report) and report progress to the regional office.
  • Verify loan disbursements and conduct site visits to ensure proper use of loans.
  • Reconcile passbooks every three months to maintain accuracy.
  • Plan and implement team-based loan distribution and recovery strategies with branch staff.
  • Set branch-level annual income and expense targets, prepare budgets, and submit financial projections to the regional office.
  • Conduct Annual Confidential Reports (ACR) and performance evaluations for branch staff.
  • Submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports within the specified timelines.
  • Supervise loan approval, disbursement, and monitoring procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation, risk assessment, and compliance in all credit activities.
  • Take corrective actions to reduce non-performing loans and improve collection efficiency.
  • Monitor all staff activities, provide guidance, and evaluate performance.
  • Complete Day-End activities including MIS and AIS reconciliation.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance assessments, and organize training sessions.
  • Enforce staff discipline, ethical behavior, anti-money laundering policies, and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Maintain positive relationships with borrowers, community leaders, and local stakeholders.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve operational issues at the branch level.
  • Educate clients on savings, loan usage, and repayment responsibility.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor staff performance and client activities.
  • Strengthen internal control systems, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy in MIS/Microfin 360 data.
  • Promptly report any irregularities or potential risks to Head Office.
  • Support branch expansion and ensure appropriate inclusion of beneficiaries in microfinance programs.
  • Implement new products and initiatives as directed by the Head Office.
  • Promote branch growth, sustainable development, and positive social impact.
  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all operations.
